Former England captain Michael Vaughan has named the better fast bowler between New Zealand pacer Trent Boult and India quick Jasprit Bumrah. Both the bowlers are the aces of their respective sides. One is a left-arm quick with a classic action, while the other has one of the most unique actions in cricket history.

Michael Vaughan was asked of his opinions, especially after he recently created quite a stir with his opinion that New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is an equally good batsman as Virat Kohli, but is not talked about as the ‘best batsman of the current era because he is not from India.

“If Kane Williamson was Indian, he would be the greatest player in the world. But he’s not because you’re not allowed to say that Virat Kohli is not the greatest, because you’d get an absolute pelting on social media. So, you all say Virat is the best purely to get a few more clicks and likes, few more numbers following here. Kane Williamson, across formats, is equally the best. I think the way he plays, the calm demeanor, his humbleness, the fact that he is silent about what he does,” Michael Vaughan had told Spark Sport.

However, the Englishman was found at his wit’s end as he was asked to choose between New Zealand pace ace Trent Boult and India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. the England captain decided to play with a straight bat, praising both the modern-day fast bowlers, who might end up becoming one of the all-time greats of the game in the future.

Trent Boult, who made his New Zealand debut in 2011 has 281 wickets in 71 Tests, 169 wickets in 93 ODIs, and 46 wickets in 34 T20Is. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah made his debut for India in 2016 and has 83 wickets in 19 Tests including a hat-trick, 108 wickets in 67 ODIs, and 59 wickets in 50 T20I matches.

“Bumrah or Boult… I can’t decide. I’m going to sit on the fence probably for the first time in my life. I would say Boult because he’s been doing it for longer, but Bumrah is incredible and a brilliant skilled-bowler, bowled so well in England a couple of years ago. So I think it’s very, very close,” Michael Vaughan told Spark Sport.

Both the bowlers will be seen in action when India and New Zealand clash in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) from June 18 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, England.
