Michael Vaughan Roasts Himself After His Old Tweet Comes To Backfire Him

Former England cricketer-turned commentator Michael Vaughan’s pre-series prediction that India will be routed 0-4 by Australia in the Test series has come back to bite him as the Ajinkya Rahane-led outfit defied all the odds stacked against them to script a triumph for the ages.
Michael Vaughan had made a series of predictions prior to India’s tour of Australia, all of which proved to be wrong eventually. After India was smashed by a rampant Steve Smith in the first two One-day Internationals in Sydney, the former England captain had taken to his official Twitter account to predict that the tourists will be smashed by Australia across all three formats of the game.
Early call … I think Australia will beat India this tour in all formats convincingly … #<!---->A<!---->U<!---->S<!---->v<!---->I<!---->N<!---->D

The prediction proved to be wrong as India won the final ODI to avoid a series whitewash and they backed it up by winning the first two T20Is to clinch the three-match rubber 2-1.
However, Vaughan was adamant that despite India’s comeback in the white-ball leg, they will still be beaten 0-4 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, especially if they failed to win the first Test at the Adelaide Oval- the only match in which Virat Kohli was scheduled to be available.

India were routed for 36 in their second innings of the pink-ball Test at the Adelaide Oval and with Virat Kohli heading home and Mohammed Shami ruled out due to injury, Vaughan once again reminded the Indian fans of his prediction.
Told ya … India are going to get hammered in the Test Series … #<!---->A<!---->U<!---->S<!---->v<!---->I<!---->N<!---->D #4-0

Little that Michael Vaughan knew that a renaissance for the ages was about to follow. India, on the back of an astounding hundred by Ajinkya Rahane and all-round bowling performance, came roaring back to turn the tables on Australia in the Boxing Day Test to level the series 1-1.
Vaughan was still adamant that India will lose the series, the only difference was that he had now changed the scoreline from 0-4 to 1-3.
If the pitches are similar for the Ashes as they have been for the Indian series it gives England a great chance .. If Melbourne replaces Sydney for this series it also gives India a chance but I still think the Aussies will bounce back and win 3-1 .. #<!---->A<!---->U<!---->S<!---->v<!---->I<!---->N<!---->D

However, Team India had other plans.

Despite being bruised and battered, they scripted a draw for the ages in Sydney to keep the series alive coming into the fourth Test, where they landed the killer blow as they chased down 328 to not only win the Test and the series but also break Australia’s 32-year streak at the Gabba.
His predictions may have gone horribly wrong but the former skipper gave Team India the credit that they so richly deserve for what he termed as the ‘greatest test series win in recent memory’.
The Greatest Test series win of all time … Well done #<!---->I<!---->n<!---->d<!---->i<!---->a you have just shown the way for England to get back those Ashes back later in the year … ? h<!---->t<!---->t<!---->p<!---->s<!---->:<!---->/<!---->/<!---->t<!---->.<!---->c<!---->o<!---->/<!---->e<!---->W<!---->K<!---->a<!---->K<!---->F<!---->f<!---->J<!---->4<!---->1
— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) J<!---->a<!---->n<!---->u<!---->a<!---->r<!---->y<!----> <!---->1<!---->9<!---->,<!----> <!---->2<!---->0<!---->2<!---->1
Not only that, Michael Vaughan even went on to post a picture of himself ‘taking an egg’ for his horribly wrong predictions on his official Instagram account.
”That feeling when you predict #India would lose 4-0 if they lost in Adelaide !!! Without question it has to be the greatest Test series win of all time … Well done India !!! Incredible character , resilience & tremendous skill shown .. !!! wrote Vaughan.
