Sri Lanka national coach Mickey Arthur hit back at a Twitter user who trolled him for not congratulating Sri Lanka players for getting IPL contacts in the UAE leg of the 2021 season. IPL 2021 UAE leg is set to commence on September 19. Earlier in May, the tournament was postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic in India. However, BCCI has planned to schedule the remaining games in UAE during the second phase. The tournament will conclude on October 15 with the final match.

I Do That Under Closed Doors: Mickey Arthur Responds To Trollers

After some Twitter users trolled Sri Lanka coach Mickey Arthur for not sharing a congratulatory message for his players for grabbing IPL deals, he responded to one of the trollers with a strong reply. Mickey Arthur said that he doesn’t need social media to congratulate his players.

“I speak to our players most days and don’t have to go on social media to congratulate them, I do that behind closed doors! Before you comment think a bit!”, Mickey Arthur tweeted. Have a look at his tweet below.

Mickey Arthur’s response was appreciated by many other Twitter users. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga has been inducted into the RCB squad for IPL 2021 as a replacement to Australian spinner Adam Zampa. Moreover, Dushmantha Chameera bagged a spot to replace Daniel Sams in the squad. However, the Sri Lankan duo are yet to a get green signal from Sri Lanka Cricket Board to participate in IPL 2021.

Interestingly, both the Sri Lankan players went unsold in the IPL 2021 auction earlier this year due to franchises fearing their unavailability due to international commitments. Hasaranga and Chameera gave an outstanding performance during India’s tour of Sri Lanka in July this year.

While spinner Hasaranga emerged as a player of the tournament in the 3-match T20 series, Chameera impressed with his pace bowling attack against India. Sri Lanka won the T20I series 2-1 against a second-string Indian team after losing the ODI series 2-1.
