Misbah-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s former captain and head coach, has stated that replacing the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will not affect the country’s sport.

Imran Khan’s plan to terminate departmental cricket and its involvement in sports, according to Misbah, did not show up to benefit Pakistan cricket or any other sport.

“We need to modify our goals and the way we operate our cricket organization,” Misbah stated on the Geo News channel.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s decision to abandon departmental cricket and their position in sports, he added, did not appear to benefit Pakistan cricket or any other sport.

“It’s been three years since departments or institutions have played a role in cricket or other sports, and what have we accomplished so far?” he wondered.

Misbah saw that departments and entities that had previously invested money in cricket were now investing it elsewhere.

“In domestic cricket, they formed provincial association teams, although this has only created administrative issues.”

Change of face wouldn’t make any difference: Misbah-ul-Haq

According to Misbah-ul-Haq, there is nothing unusual with the PCB experimenting with a new domestic cricket system, but the old system of department cricket might have been phased out only once the proposed system had begun to pay rewards.

Misbah was quoted as saying that a change of face in the cricket board would not make a difference.

“I believe that whoever is elected chairman should have a vision for how our cricket should be conducted. The system should not change, regardless of who is the chairman or whether the board changes. Cricket should continue.”

Misbah-ul-Haq is the most successful Pakistan Test captain, he went past Imran Khan, who had 13 wins under his name.
