Australia National Cricket Team all-rounder Mitchell Marsh came up with a hilarious plan to stop Virat Kohli in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He said that if the batter goes past the 30-run mark, he will shoulder charge him and injure him for the rest of the series.

The fierce rivalry between India and Australia is back as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is around the corner. The five-match Test series between the two teams is all set to begin from 22nd November with the series opener all set to take place at the WACA Stadium in Perth.

Going into the series, Virat Kohli will be key for the India

It will be the battle of the big names as Virat Kohli, Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell Starc, and others will be in action. The two teams, over the years, have displayed a magnificent brand of cricket and have been involved in various enthralling encounters both in India and Australia.

Going into the series, Kohli will be key for the India National Cricket Team. The batter has been one of the best players in the team for a long period. Even though he is enduring a lean patch, one cannot doubt his ability, especially in the Australian conditions, where he has gained a lot of success.

Kohli possesses a great record against the Australia National Cricket Team. The prolific India batter has mustered 2000 runs from 25 Tests at an average of 47.48. He also has scored 8 centuries vs Australia, out of which 6 have come away from home, which depicts how much he enjoys playing against them.

"I think I’m going to shoulder charge him - Mitchell Marsh on Virat Kohli

Ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Australian players were asked about Virat Kohli. One of the interesting comments came from Mitchell Marsh when he was asked how they would stop the India National Cricket Team batter in the series.

Mitchell Marsh, however, came up with the unique idea, saying that he would take the batter down and rule him out of the series, which would help them win. Quoted as saying by Fox Sports, he explained: "I think I’m going to shoulder charge him when he gets to 30, just take him out."

I don’t think it’s like him or I have cracks back or forth - Mitchell Starc on Virat Kohli

Mitchell Starc also talked about Kohli, saying that he has enjoyed his battles with India's batter. He said that he didn't want to get into the ears of the batter and would like to let the ball do the talking for him. He said:

“I got to play alongside Virat for a couple of years in the IPL, so I got to know him off the field a bit and I have always enjoyed the battles together. But I don’t think it’s like him or I have cracks back or forth. It’s more about the cricket and enjoying the contest. So he’s not someone I have riled up or tried to rile up. You just have to try and let the cricket do the talking,”

Virat Kohli has been putting hard yards in the nets ahead of the first Test in Perth. He would be keen to silence all his critics and help his team win the series.
