MI Cape Town has released a statement confirming the appointment of Mitchell McClenaghan as the team’s Bowling Coach and Kruger van Wyk as the Fielding Coach for the 2025 SA20 season.

Mitchell McClenaghan Won Four IPL Titles With Mumbai Indians

The franchise will have McClenaghan, who had a successful stint with MI Emirates as the Bowling Coach during their title-winning ILT20 2024 campaign. He will be a valuable addition for the upcoming season. Van Wyk, who is the Fielding Coach for the South African men's team, brings his expertise.

"McClenaghan, a true-blue MI #OneFamily legend, having won four IPL titles with the Mumbai Indians as a player in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020, and part of the Wankhede folklore, makes the move from MI Emirates, where he was part of the title-winning ILT20 2024 campaign as the Bowling Coach. He’s going to love it at Newlands, with a bunch of exciting fast bowlers to work with!," the statement added.

"Van Wyk, a former New Zealand Test cricketer and a veteran with 80 T20s under his belt, is a South Africa-born, feisty wicket-keeper batter. He’s also the Fielding Coach for the South Africa men’s team."

Mitchell McClenaghan joined Mumbai Indians in 2015 and played a key role in the team for five seasons. He was retained for the IPL 2020 but didn’t feature in the XI as Trent Boult was also signed that season. McClenaghan took 71 wickets in 56 matches for Mumbai, with his best figures being 4/21.
