Varun Chakaravarthy and Arshdeep Singh Strike Twice with the Ball

India and Australia were locked in a tight contest during the third T20I. Varun Chakravarthy and Arshdeep Singh kept India in the game by striking twice each. Arshdeep removed Travis Head and Josh Inglis cheaply inside the powerplay, while Tim David counterattacked with 74 off 38 balls.

At the time of writing, Australia were 130 for 5, with Marcus Stoinis (35 from 22 deliveries) and Matthew Short (2) at the crease.

The home team entered the match with a 1-0 advantage, having chased down India’s modest 125 in Melbourne. The series opener was washed out due to rain in Canberra. With the series still open, Suryakumar Yadav’s side would be keen to bounce back and level the series 1-1.

How Varun Chakravarthy Performed in the Second T20I Against Australia

Varun Chakravarthy delivered an impressive bowling performance in the second match, finishing with 2 for 23 in his four overs. The spinner removed both Travis Head and Tim David, briefly slowing Australia’s momentum, but India’s low total left him with too little to defend.

Australia comfortably chased down the target to win the second T20I by six wickets. Mitchell Marsh scored 46 off 26 balls and added a 51-run opening stand with Head. Josh Inglis and Mitchell Owen also contributed to help the hosts cross the finish line with ease.

Earlier, India collapsed to a modest total. Apart from Abhishek Sharma (68) and Harshit Rana (35), none of the Indian batters reached double figures. Josh Hazlewood, Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis ran through the batting order.
