Mitchell Starc Bought By Delhi Capitals For INR 11.75 crore at IPL Auction 2025

Australia pacer Mitchell Starc has registered himself in the IPL 2025 mega auction for INR 2 crore.
Even though the veteran pacer played a key role in Kolkata Knight Riders' triumphant campaign in IPL 2024, the defending champions decided against retaining him for IPL 2025.
In 2024, Starc returned to the IPL after a gap of almost a decade. It was his first appearance in the IPL since 2015. In 2018, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders but could not play that season due to an injury.
On several occasions, he also decides against registering himself for the auction before finally making his much-awaited return to IPL in 2-24.
He led Kolkata Knight Riders' pace attack and did a brilliant job. Although Starc struggled with his rhythm early in the innings, he showed his worth towards the end of the tournament.
He delivered Player of the Match performances in the Qualifier 1 and the final as Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL after a gap of 10 years. Overall, Starc picked up 17 wickets in IPL 2024.

Delhi Capitals have signed up Mitchell Starc for INR 11.75 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians made the first bid at INR 2 crore.
Kolkata Knight Riders soon joined the race to sign back their former pacer. The two teams tussled till INR 6 crore before Delhi Capitals replaced Mumbai Indians. Royal Challengers Bengaluru then replaced the Knight Riders after the big went past the 10 crore mark. In the end, Delhi Capitals signed the Australia star.
