While speaking to Australian daily The Sydney Morning Herald ahead of AUS vs ENG 5th Test of Ashes 2021-22, Mitchell Starc refused to confirm that he will tour Pakistan in March 2022.

“We had a bit of a briefing the other day about the upcoming tour. I think it gives time for all players to process that information. Obviously, we’ve got a Test match this week to play in and perform in, and then we’ll move onto what happens next,” Mitchell Starc said.

Notably, England and New Zealand had cancelled their tours to Pakistan last year. Fascist group Taliban’s rise to power in Pakistan’s neighbouring country Afghanistan made few cricket-playing countries nervous about playing in Pakistan.

Many international players have also opted out from visiting the Asian country in the past citing security issues. Earlier, Pakistan was banned from hosting international games since 2008, post the infamous terror attack on Sri Lanka national team that year.
