A heated moment between the Islamabad United batter Faheem Ashraf and Rawalpindiz’s pacer Mohammad Amir during their PSL 2026 encounter at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The exchange of heat started as soon as Mohammad Amir dismissed the Islamabad United batter, Faheem Ashraf. On the 3rd ball of the 17th over of the first innings of the match, Amir dismissed the left-handed batter.

The seamer hit the deck hard for a slower bouncer, which went into the batter. The batter went on his back foot to guide the ball over the keeper’s head, but produced only an edge. Mohammad Rizwan took an easy catch behind the stumps.
Amir is mostly known for his calm attitude, even after taking wickets. But there was definitely something wrong between him and Ashraf. During the celebration after taking the wicket, the experienced pacer aggressively asked the batter to go back to the dugout. The batter lost his calm too and pointed his bat towards the bowler.
As the players were in aggressive mode, the other players on the ground needed to intervene to cool down the situation. Two fielders of Rawalpindiz went straight to the batter to hold him.

Amir bowled brilliantly for Rawalpindi
Batting first, Islamabad United scored 137 runs in exchange for 10 wickets. Devon Conway, with 40 runs, was the highest scorer for the team. Ashraf, who came off at the number 7 position, managed to score only 11 runs.
Mohammad Amir was impressive with the ball. He took a brace in his 4-over spell in exchange for an economy rate of 5.20. He was the most effective bowler for the team from Rawalpindi.
“I'm really happy, as a bowler, when you do well for the team, and as a team we needed that. We bowled the best team of the tournament, I think. Islamabad is a good side. But I'm happy to do that. Big relief to be honest because we were struggling,” Mohammad Amir said after the match.
“We had some close encounters we lost, but today in the meeting we talked about, like, we need to finish on a high note, and I think the first half we did well,” he added.
The absence of Naseem Shah has been considered a massive loss for the team. Because of an injury, the pacer has been ruled out of the PSL 2026 season.
“Honestly, as a player, I feel sorry for him. It's always tough to come back to the team when your team needs you as a senior player, but I think you can say it's a hard luck. He's a good bowler, and he started well, but you can say it's bad luck,” Amir said on the injured pacer.
Amir is hopeful to win the match in Karachi
The pitch might not be ideal for the batters. But, as the target is not too big, Mohammad Amir is confident of picking up a crucial win against the Islamabad United.
“The wicket is a bit tricky, and we need to bat well, and we need two good partnerships, and hopefully we're going to chase this target,” he concluded.
