After being knocked out of the competition, Pakistan's former pacer Mohammad Amir went on to expose the weakness of mystery spinner Usman Tariq. He pointed out the poor show from the Pakistan spin trio and then cut through Usman Tariq's bowling strategy, making it look like a toddler's ploy.
Pakistan have been officially eliminated from the ICC T20 World Cup, and New Zealand are through to the semis, despite the Pakistanis having defeated Sri Lanka by 5 runs in the final contest, which gave them the same 3 points as New Zealand.
However, to qualify despite the same points, Pakistan needed to surpass the net run rate held by New Zealand, and in order to do that, they needed to record a victory by over 65 runs, which could not happen, and they were out of the race.
"Leaving Abrar, your (Pakistan's) three other spinners went for 97 runs in 8 overs," Mohammad Amir points out the reasons for Pakistan's T20 World Cup exit
After losing the chance to qualify despite having batted their hearts out with a massive 212 run total, which included efforts mainly from openers Fakhar Zaman (84) and Sahibzada Farhan (100), former pacer Mohammad Amir has exposed the miserable truth of their spinners.
"Speaking in the context of yesterday's match, leaving out Abrar Ahmed, three of your spinners went for 97 runs in 8 overs. All three spinners, Nawaz, Shabad Khan and Usman Tariq, went for 97 runs in their 8 overs," Mohammad Amir blurted facts.
Amir didn't look happy with the spinners, especially after Abrar Ahmed's three-wicket spell showed that it had help for spinners who were slow through the air, while the other spinners were taken for too many runs, when they had to constrict them within a total of 147 runs.
"33 runs were scored against Shadab. So again, runs have been scored at an economy of 16 or 17 against him," added Ahmed Shehzad.
"Usman Tariq has started to get exposed in International cricket" - Mohammad Amir
Amir, the analyzer, has been too good with his actions, and this time, he has exposed the Pakistan mystery spinner, Usman Tariq. He pointed out how bowling too slow and a dipping trajectory often gives time to the batters to rely on the backfoot and dominate against him.
"Usman has a huge problem. He has now come into international cricket and hence has started getting exposed. The reason is that he doesn't bowl with pace; for that, he would have to flex his arms high, which could cause his arm to bend, so he uses a wide arm action, which doesn't help him with much pace on the ball. He bowls within the 76-78 kmph limit," Mohammad Amir observed.
"Today, as well, we saw that many shots against him were played when the batsman waited for the balls, and then the majority of the shots were played off the backfoot. International cricket exposes everyone, as I had formerly said about Abhishek Sharma or Saim Ayub. Players only struggled against Tariq if they tried and played him on the frontfoot," Mohammad Amir added.

Pakistan's elimination makes way for the South Africa vs New Zealand semi-final at the Eden Gardens
Pakistan's elimination came when Pawan Rathnayake and Dasun Shanaka took Sri Lanka past the 147-run mark, which ended the Men in Green's hopes for the semi-final spot. The captain seemingly had some grudges against Pakistan, as he played one of the most memorable innings of his career against a team he loves to bat against.
Shanaka could not win it for Sri Lanka, but he led his team to a position from where they could leave with their heads held high. The semi-final action would now shift to India at the Eden Gardens, where South Africa will clash against Mitchell Santner's Blackcaps.
