Pakistani Cricket expert Mohammad Amir has made another audacious claim on Team India not being the 'hot favourites' despite being proven wrong on his early prediction of India not making it to the semi-finals.

India are through to the semi-finals after having defeated the mighty West Indies in the decisive match between the two giants of the game. They will now advance to one of India's most iconic venues, the Wankhede Stadium, for the knockout clash against England.

India won the last two matches of Group 1 against Zimbabwe and the West Indies after having lost their first game to the Proteas. On the other hand, England, South Africa, and New Zealand are the other three teams through to the semis.

"India are not playing the best brand of cricket," claimed Mohammad Amir

Ahead of the decisive game between India and the West Indies, legendary Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir predicted that India would not reach the semi-finals. On the other hand, it is also worth noting that he had predicted that Pakistan would win the T20 World Cup.

Though many of Amir's predictions came to be true in this edition of the tournament, this prediction has been proudly proven wrong by the Indians. They are through to the semi-finals for the sixth time in the history of the T20 World Cups.

However, Amir says, "If I go according to analyzation of cricket, then I would still say that India is not playing good cricket.

"Check out their fielding; they have dropped three to four catches on the field, and they are fumbling the ball. Except for Jasprit Bumrah, every bowler is being taken for runs. The Indian fans who do analyze cricket would agree with me that India are still depending on that one bowler," he observed.

Mohammad Amir makes a wild prediction on India not being the 'hot favourites'

Mohammad Amir's predictions continued to go wild; however, one of his claims seemed to be a fact: that Varun Chakravarthy has been taken for runs in this T20 World Cup, and the spinner has seemingly lost his edge.

"Hardik Pandya never bowls well against good teams. Today, as well, he was hit for 40 runs. Varun Chakravarthy has also been hit, and the West Indies still don't play spin well, while the teams that they will face later in the tournament do play spin extremely well," opined Mohammad Amir.

However, the prediction seemed very bizarre, as India would next clash against England, who are believed to be largely troubled by spinners, a problem that has been evident since the 2023 CWC in India and in this edition of the T20 World Cup as well.

"India are still not the hot favourites of this tournament," concluded Mohammad Amir.

Sanju Samson guides India off to the semis with a historic innings

What Sanju Samson played at the Eden Gardens on the 1st of March was not just an individual masterclass in the World Cup but also a memorable innings that will remain to be written in the history of Indian cricket.

He opened the innings for them and scored a massive 97 runs, as he stood tall and finished the innings. Samson remained the guiding figure, as he was part of all 6 partnerships with every batter who stepped in.
