Pakistan National Cricket Team premier left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir has posted a tweet in support of the veteran batsman Fakhar Zaman, who was recently dropped from the white-ball squad.

Mohammad Amir's tweet in support of Fakhar Zaman could trigger the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made it clear that the players cannot question the decisions of the selection committee.

Fakhar Zaman dropped after posting a tweet in Babar Azam's support

Fakhar Zaman recently hogged the headlines for posting a tweet in favor of Babar Azam when he was about to get dropped from the Test squad for the second and third matches against England National Cricket Team.

In his tweet, Fakhar stated that Babar, who is among the all-time greats, should not be dropped as it would send a negative message across the team. He also compared Babar's lean patch with Virat Kohli, mentioning that the Indian selectors didn't drop the superstar batsman.

This act by Fakhar didn't go well with the Pakistan Cricket Board, who issued a show-cause notice to the batter, demanding an explanation. In response, the star batter had said that he respects PCB, but Babar 'deserved a chance during tough times'.

Fakhar Zaman has already faced the consequences of his tweet as he has been dropped from the Pakistan squad and has been left out of the list of centrally contracted players.

At the press conference, Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that the dispute of Fakhar with the PCB over the tweet, along with him failing the fitness test, has led to his omission.

I am surprised that Fakhar Zaman is not in the team - Mohammad Amir

After Fakhar Zaman's snub, Mohammad Amir took to his official X handle to question the decision of the PCB selection committee to drop the batter. He expressed his surprise at the batter's snub as he considers Fakhar the only impact player in the white-ball squad.

"I am surprised that @FakharZamanLive is not in the team. He is the only impact player we have in white ball cricket," Pakistan National Cricket Team left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir wrote on X.

Notably, Mohammad Amir himself has been dropped from the Pakistan squad. He was not picked in any of the four squads that were selected for the Australia and Zimbabwe tours for the ODI and T20I series.

Other notable names that are not part of the white-ball squads are Imam-ul-Haq, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, and Usama Mir.

If they lose, I will take all the rage of the fans myself - Mohsin Naqvi

At the press conference where Mohammad Rizwan was named the new Pakistan white-ball skipper, Mohsin Naqvi also said that he would take all the blame if the team loses the upcoming matches. He said:

"If they lose, I will take all the rage of the fans myself. If they win, credit will be theirs."

Also, the new selector, Aaqib Javed, said that the Pakistan National Cricket Team don't have any set formula for white-ball cricket and will continue to adapt. He said:

"There is no specific formula. You need to create conditions that favour the home side. Fitness and skills are important too but it also depends on which opposition you are playing against."
