India won the second T20I against Afghanistan, and with that, they also won the three-match series after winning the first two games. In the second game, it was the rampage of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma in a small run chase for the side. After that, Mohammad Kaif urged to see Vaibhav Sooryavanshi alongside Sanju and Abhishek in the same team.

Shreyas Iyer’s side chased down the target of 160 runs with ease, with more than five overs to spare. The opening partnership of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma took the game away from the Afghans inside the powerplay as they scored 82 runs in the first six overs. Both the openers were on song last night at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.

Mohammad Kaif backs India to play Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma

Former India batter Mohammad Kaif revealed that sometime in the future or in the coming months, he hopes to see all three Vaibhav Sooryavanshi alongside Sanju and Abhishek play together in the team. He believes that all three are equally talented, and it will be a delight for everyone to watch them play together.

"Somewhere down the line in the future, whether it be in the next 2 months, 4 months, or 6 months, these 3 players have to play together. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Sanju Samson, and Abhishek Sharma all together in the playing XI. It is my desire that these 3 players play together, because they are such exciting talent," Mohammad Kaif said on Cricbuzz.

Mohammad Kaif on comparison of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Sanju Samson

After Samson’s 57-run off 22-ball innings, Kaif, who criticised the India opener previously, changed his views as he spoke in favour of the batter, as he said it is not a competition between Sanju and Vaibhav; they are both good players, and they can be fit together if the team combination is different and if the Men in Blue side play one less bowler in the next game.

"It is not Sanju Samson vs Vaibhav Sooryavanshi; both are strong players. You can even try to fit them together in the next match by removing one bowler and bringing in Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. You have Abhishek Sharma, who can bowl a few overs, so it can be managed."

"You have won the series anyway, so try playing all three of them together. For how long will you keep Vaibhav Sooryavanshi out? So you have to find a formula where all three of them fit together," he continued.

Mohit Sharma wants Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to feature in 3rd T20I

Apart from Mohammad Kaif, former India pacer Mohit Sharma also believes the same: including Vaibhav Sooryavanshi along with Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma in the squad will not make any difference in the squad as India has already won the series.

"That question is a 100 percent valid, and it has been since the first match. From Vaibhav's point of view, it is not right to give him just one match. If you want to play him, play him from the first match itself and give him the entire series. If you give him the last match of the series and, for some reason, he is not able to score runs, it will have a huge impact on his confidence."
