He was also seen emotional while hugging his daughter. However, the heartwarming reunion has taken a dramatic turn, as Shami’s estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, made some serious accusations about the meeting.

She claimed that Shami met his daughter for public attention and had less to do with genuine affection. Hasin claimed that the real reason for their meeting was Aaira’s expired passport, for which Shami’s signature was required.

Despite the shopping spree, Jahan alleged that Mohammed Shami did not sign the passport, instead taking Aaira to a store associated with his endorsement deal, where purchases could be made without cost.

Jahan criticized Shami, accusing him of neglecting his daughter, stating that he seldom checks on her well-being. She expressed frustration that Shami posted the video for attention, as he had met Aaira just a month ago without any acknowledgment and didn’t post anything.

Hasin Jahan was quoted as saying by anandabazar.com: “It's just for the sake of showing off. My daughter's passport has expired. Shami's signature is required for the new passport. That is why she went to meet her father, but Shami did not sign. He went to a shopping mall with her daughter.

The company for which Shami advertises, he took her there. My daughter bought shoes and clothes from that shop. Shami does not have to pay if he buys anything from there. That's why she was taken there. My daughter wanted a guitar and camera; he didn't buy her that stuff.”

She signed off by saying, “Shami never inquires about my daughter. Shami is only busy with himself. He met her just a month ago but did not post anything back then. I think there was nothing to post now, so he uploaded this video.”

Speaking about the professional front, Mohammed Shami has been sidelined since the ODI World Cup 2023 due to an ankle injury. He is expected to return to action with the upcoming Test series against New Zealand.

However, it seems that Shami has to wait for his comeback into competitive cricket. Actually, the India pacer has not been included in Bengal’s 19-member squad for their first two games in the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024-25.

He is currently working on his recovery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, and there is no sign of being match-fit. A Bengal team member revealed: “We came to know that he (Mohammed Shami) has again sustained some niggle. So, he couldn’t be considered for these matches.”
