Mohammed Siraj has been proving his critics wrong in style in the ongoing IPL 2025, and Ambati Rayudu couldn’t hide his excitement as he was showering rich praise on the Indian pacer for his remarkable performances for the Gujarat Titans in the tournament.
Having watched Siraj’s rise from the early days since the fiery bowler hails from his hometown Hyderabad, Rayudu feels proud of how the pacer has bounced back with the ball after being sidelined by the national selectors from the Indian cricket team.
Mohammed Siraj’s IPL 2025 heroics leave Indian selectors red-faced
Presently, Mohammed Siraj is the joint-second highest wicket-taker in the ongoing IPL 2025, where he has so far taken 9 wickets in four matches at an economy rate of over 7, and he has been instrumental in Gujarat Titans’ hat trick of wins in the tournament.

However, before the IPL 2025, Siraj was dropped from India’s white-ball teams, and even he was overlooked for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 because of his ineffectiveness with the old ball. But the fiery pacer made a stunning comeback, giving a tight slap to the selectors and Rohit Sharma.
After another match-winning performance in the IPL 2025, where he was adjudged Player of the Match for his four-wicket haul against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Ambati Rayudu pointed out that Siraj has worked hard on his skills, especially his wrist position, which has improved significantly.

The former Indian batter has mentioned how the Hyderabad speedster has once again started using reverse swing to great effect—something he’s naturally gifted at. Rayudu also noted that Mohammed Siraj is enjoying his cricket again and predicted that it’s the beginning of another strong phase in his career.
Ambati Rayudu said on ESPNCricinfo’s “Time Out’ show, “I'm purely elated because he's from Hyderabad. I've seen him grow up, and you know he's amazing. The way he has come back after being left out of the Indian side is quite amazing to see.
We have spoken earlier that, you know, his wrist position has changed, and now, you know, he was so happy looking at the ball reverse swing, which he is quite capable of doing, and he is very good at it. You know, you can see he's enjoying his cricket, and I think there are more good days to come for him.”
Mohammed Siraj will shine with the ball as long as there's something in the pitch: Ian Bishop
There were chatters about "batters’ paradise" in the lead-up to the IPL 2025, but Siraj left everyone stunned with his remarkable efforts with the ball, and Ian Bishop reminded everyone that as long as the pitches offer a little help, he can turn the game around.
Bishop signed off by saying, “We came into the IPL talking; they came in talking about 300 and it being a batter's game, and for the last you've got the numbers here. I'm sure as long as there's something in the pitches, the bowlers are in the game big time, and it redresses the balance that we're seeing of bat domination.”
Notably, Siraj will be next seen in action on April 9 when Gujarat Titans will take on the Rajasthan Royals in their next IPL 2025 game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
