Young India batter Abhishek Sharma talked about the experience of playing his first international series. He also talked about his performances in the five-match T20I series against the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.

After his consistent performances in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League, Abhishek Sharma earned his maiden call-up for the India National Cricket Team. He was named in the team for the series against the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team in the recently concluded five-match series.

Abhishek Sharma was handed the debut cap in the first match but it wasn't the kind of start that he would've wanted. The left-hander in his maiden international innings bagged a four-ball duck and left the pitch disappointed. But after that, he made a strong comeback in the second T20I against Zimbabwe.

Abhishek Sharma made up for his duck in the first innings as he slammed a brutal century in his second international match. The opening batter ended with an innings of 100 runs off 47 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 212 and also hit 7 fours and 8 sixes in his innings.

However, once Yashasvi Jaiswal was back in the team, he was dropped to No.3. The demotion didn't go well but he made sure that he played impactful innings for the team. He scored 10 runs off 9 balls in the third game and then didn't get a chance to bat in the fourth game.

Abhishek Sharma then in the last game of the series played a knock of 14 runs off 11 balls, hitting 1 four and 1 six. He concluded the series with 124 runs with the bat and was one of the key performers with the bat for the team, helping them win the series.

Not only with the bat, Abhishek Sharma also chipped in with the ball. He displayed his all-round skills in the T20I series against Zimbabwe National Cricket Team and picked two wickets. He bowled 13 overs in the series and was one of the positives for the team in the series.

As a player, your job is to keep doing your hard work - Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma talked about his experience playing for India, saying that to get a hundred in his second game is a big thing. He talked about his job and said that this is just the beginning for him and he will be working hard. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:

"That was my first series and that too overseas and to get a hundred in that in the second game is the big thing. As a player, your job is to keep doing your hard work. But moments like these motivate me a lot and I'm sure this is just the beginning. I'm going to work really hard."

Abhishek Sharma would be keen to make a huge impact with the bat in the next series for India. With the kind of show that he displayed, he is likely to get selected in Indian team for the Sri Lanka T20Is.
