Speculation over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player MS Dhoni’s possible retirement from the IPL has intensified after his family was seen at the stadium in Chennai. The presence of Dhoni’s parents in the stands leaves fans to wonder if they were there to witness what could be his final appearance at Chepauk.

Chennai Super Kings are facing Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday, April 5. There were rumors that MS Dhoni might reassume the captaincy due to an injury concern surrounding current skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, Dhoni did not return to lead the side.

MS Dhoni’s future in the IPL has become a hot topic once again, with growing speculation that the legendary cricketer might retire at the end of the match against Delhi Capitals. Dhoni’s parents were seen at the MA Chidambaram Stadium ahead of the Super Kings’ home game against Delhi Capitals.

The Jharkhand-born cricketer has played a crucial role in the Chennai-based team’s success and cemented his legacy as one of the most reliable and influential players in the tournament.

CSK started their IPL 2025 campaign on a positive note with a four-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians. However, they suffered back-to-back defeats in their next two outings. Dhoni resumed leadership in 2018 and continued until 2023, with a short captaincy handover to Ravindra Jadeja in 2022. Over the years, he guided CSK to five IPL titles—in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023—cementing his legacy as one of the most successful captains in the history of the tournament.
