Former Indian captain MS Dhoni has been in the headlines even as he retired from international cricket nearly a year ago. While MS Dhoni continues to play for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL), his performances have been a mixed bag. Nevertheless, as one of the most loved cricketers in India, people keep track of what is happening with his life. And the keeper-batsman has gifted his better half a car on the occasion of their marriage anniversary.

On Sunday, Sakshi Dhoni took to her official Instagram handle and posted a story of the car with the caption, “Thank you for the anniversary gift”. Alongside a picture of the gifted car, Sakshi also shared other stories, thanking her friends and family for wishing them on their anniversary. The car is revealed to be a Volkswagen Beetle.

MS Dhoni surprised one and all by marrying Sakshi Dhoni out of nowhere in 2010. The couple had a baby girl in February 2015, who they named Ziva. At that time, MS Dhoni was in Australia, captaining the national team in the 2015 World Cup. The men in blue were the defending champions in that edition; however, their run came to an end in the semi-final after losing to Australia, the eventual tournament winners.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni’s performances with the bat might not have been up to the mark, the veteran’s captaincy skills remain intact. After the Chennai Super Kings had a torrid IPL season in 2020, they bounced back to finish the first leg of IPL 2021 in the second position. The three-time champions have won five out of seven games in the initial phase and Dhoni’s captaincy has been one of its significant reasons.
