A man impersonating Adam Zampa tries to trick Ravichandran Ashwin

The Indian spinner found himself in a humorous situation again when another fraudster impersonated Australian cricketer Adam Zampa and contacted him on WhatsApp. The man asked for the phone numbers of several cricketers.

Even the former cricketer shared screenshots of the conversation on Instagram and captioned it as, “Fake Adam Zampa tries to strike.” The fans loved Ashwin's witty replies and were impressed by how he tricked the impersonator.

The man impersonating Adam Zampa asked for the contact details of players like Abhishek Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh, and Shivam Dube. Even Ashwin played along that he would send them immediately.

He then turned him down, asking for the number of the former CSK skipper MS Dhoni. Fake Zampa also replied that he has it, and Ashwin, in turn, asked for the number in exchange.

The previous incident marked a man impersonating Devon Conway messaging Ashwin

This wasn't the first brush with online impostors for Ashwin, as he revealed a previous incident where a man had impersonated Devon Conway, his former teammate for the Chennai Super Kings.

'Hi buddy, how are you?' And I also responded, 'We'll stay in touch. You're playing in MLC; I'll watch the games.' After this, Conway asked for the phone number of Virat Kohli, which then threw Ashwin into immediate doubt.

Ravichandran Ashwin to return to cricket with the BBL season

Lastly, Ravichandran Ashwin recently defended pacer Harshit Rana after having questioned his inclusion in India's ODI squad against Australia. He went on to add that no player should be attacked below the belt, as personal attacks on players can be tormenting for the players as well as the families of the cricketers.

Harshit Rana received an equal backing from Indian coach Gautam Gambhir; however, playing the first game on the Australia tour, he was trolled after being dismissed for just 1 run and then went wicketless in the match as well.

"We can definitely criticize their skill, their style of cricket and the trade that they are plying. But it shouldn't get personal. It may be funny once or twice, but it shouldn't be a running theme," Ravichandran Ashwin said while clarifying his take on Harshit Rana.
