MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Mithali Raj Among 17 Cricketers Awarded MCC Life Membership

MCC have awarded life membership to 19 new members which include both men & women cricketers. The list comprises legendary Indian players like MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Jhulan Goswami & Mithali Raj in it. MCC club is recognized to be one of the most reputed ones in cricket & now it has got great names attached to it in the form of MS Dhoni.

Under MS Dhoni’s regime, the Men in Blue broke the drought of 28 years as India won the 2011 WC after 1983. Yuvraj Singh, the flamboyant all-rounder who was the player of the tournament played a massive role in the 2011 triumph as well as in the 2007 T20 WC. It won’t be wrong to say that the duo of Yuvraj- Dhoni did wonders for Indian cricket.

Suresh Raina was the silent assassin as he scored more than 5,500 ODI runs in his career across all the formats of the game. Raina was a team player who could bat in any position. Mithali Raj & Jhulan Goswami were the two stalwarts of India’s women’s cricket who broke numerous records in their careers.

MCC Chief Executive Guy Lavender was quite delighted to announce the life members of MCC. Guy Lavender also pointed out that they are privileged to have players as members of MCC.

“We are thrilled to be able to announce our newest cohort of Honorary Life Members of MCC, as we prepare for the new international summer. The names that have been announced today are some of the greatest international players of modern times, and we are privileged to now count them as valued Members of our Club,” said MCC Chief Executive Guy Lavender.
