West Indies and New Zealand teams will compete in two different under-19 women’s tri-series tournaments in Mumbai in November and December.
Obviously planning the matches in advance of the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa next year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will field two teams (India U-19 A and B), who will play the visiting West Indies and New Zealand sides one after the other.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has been requested by the BCCI to host the matches there. These matches, which will take place from November 20 to December 6, have been scheduled for DY Patil Stadium and BKC Ground.
“The idea is to have robust preparation for the Under-19 World Cup and the selectors will have a range of players to pick as we are planning to field two Indian teams,” said a source in the knowledge of the arrangement.
From January 14 to January 29, the inaugural Under 19 Women’s World Cup will take place.
The senior Indian women’s team, meanwhile, will shortly receive their first raise as they prepare to host Australia for a five-match T20I series. The first game is set for December 9 and the Australian women will be in town. The locations have not yet been decided upon.

The BCCI has placed a fresh emphasis on women’s cricket, recently announcing pay parity between men’s and women’s match fees. They will be paid INR 15 lakh, INR 6 lakh, and INR 3 lakh for each Test, ODI, and T20I, much like their male counterparts. The BCCI is also preparing to introduce a five-team women’s IPL, which will begin early next year.
