The Pakistan Women's National Cricket Team is all set to face Sri Lanka Women's National Cricket Team in the white-ball series later this month following their disappointing T20 World Cup outing. Muneeba Ali has been named as captain of the T20I squad.

On Saturday, July 18, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the white-ball squads and fixtures for the team’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka that will begin on July 23 and end on August 4. Amid this, Babar Azam's 'match-winner' Mohammad Nawaz banned for ICC Anti-Doping Code breach.

The Pakistan Women's National Cricket Team and Sri Lanka Women's National Cricket Team are all set to face each other in the three-match ODI series and three-match T20I series later this month. With Fatima Sana's absence Muneeba Ali takes charge of the team.

The Pakistan team is scheduled to reach Sri Lanka on July 20 and will train on July 21 and 22 before the series begins on July 23 in Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota. Amid this, Pakistan set to host four-team ODI tournament ahead of 2027 World Cup.

The three-match ODI series is crucial for both teams because it is part of the ICC Women's Championship 2025-29; Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be looking to collect valuable points.

Pakistan selectors have named two different captains for the tour. Star all-rounder Fatima Sana will lead the team in the ODI series. However, Fatima will miss the T20I series because she will travel to England to play in The Hundred after the ODI matches.

Fatima will make history by becoming the first Pakistani woman cricketer to take part in The Hundred. In her absence, experienced wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali will captain Pakistan in the three-match T20I series in Sri Lanka.

The Pakistan selectors have also made big changes to the T20I squad. The team management wants to give more opportunities to different players and build a stronger squad for the future after the disastrous ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign.

The PCB said in an official statement: “In the T20I squad, eight changes have been made to the side that represented Pakistan in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, underscoring the selectors’ focus on developing and integrating emerging talent into the national setup.
