Former Pakistan cricketer Mushtaq Mohammad was highly impressed with Virat Kohli’s captaincy in the series so far against England and heaped praise on his aggression as well. India has been on the money so far in the two Tests against England and was unfortunate to have missed out in the first Test on a win as rain spoilt the final day with India having hold of the game.

In the second test, India lost the toss and despite that, they executed the plans to perfection with both bat and ball. On the final day, England needed 271 to win under 60 overs and the Virat Kohli-led team was fired up so much intensity that they won the game by 151 runs.

“He Is Inspirational And Can Motivate The Side Single-Handedly” – Mushtaq Mohammad

Mushtaq Mohammad lauded the Indian skipper for being inspirational and motivational throughout the series so far and was impressed by the aggression shown on the field. He added that Kohli might not be always right while reacting to things but he is very pure in terms of heart.

“Virat has been aggressive and keen to make things happen. He is inspirational and can motivate the side single-handedly. That’s his way of expressing things. It’s not that I agree with his thinking all the time. Sometimes he does go over the top but if you know him you will understand he’s a good person at heart.”

Mushtaq Mohammad Opines On England’s Batting Woes

Mushtaq Mohammad mentioned that England’s batting woes have been a major issue for them with Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow being the only contributors so far. He added that England can never be ruled out and it is only a matter of time till they turn things around at home.

“Joe Root’s team has been let down by batting. The top-3 have been vulnerable along with Jos Buttler. But you can’t rule them out, they are capable of turning it around on home turf if they get enough runs.”
