Indian pace sensational Mayank Yadav has given an update on his injury which he sustained during IPL 2024. Mayank Yadav informed he is fitter and better but will have to spend more time at the National Cricket Academy for the rehabilitation process.

Mayank Yadav made his IPL debut in IPL 2024 for Lucknow Super Giants. The right-arm pacer gave a stunning show in his first match itself, getting a 3-wicket haul against Punjab Kings. Later, he also clinched another 3-wicket haul against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the next game.

Since his spells helped LSG to win both encounters, he was named the player of the match in two matches. However, an injury in his third game ruled him out of the match midway. Later, he did return to the tournament but played just one more match against Mumbai Indians.

Mayank Yadav, who grabbed the limelight with his 150-plus deliveries, faced an injury in the abdomen. Later, he was sent to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) after getting ruled out of IPL 2024. The LSG pacer picked 7 wickets across 4 games in the season.

Mayank Yadav scripted a unique record in IPL 2024

Meanwhile, Yadav scared the opposition batters with his raw pacer and became the first-ever player in the IPL to get two back-to-back MoTM awards in their first two games. However, due to the injury, he only played four games in the season.

He has not played any ODI, Tests, or T20I for Team India. However, there were reports that the BCCI might target him for the Australia tour in December this year, where India will face the Aussies in five games under the ICC World Test Championship.

Notably, Mayank Yadav grabbed 7 wickets in 4 games at a stunning economy of 6.98. He had an average of just 12.14. After his ouster from the squad, Lucknow Super Giants lost the plot in the tournament.

Even after consistent efforts, they could not reach the playoffs and ended in the 7th spot in the final standings. Notably, the KL Rahul-led side made it to playoffs in both last two seasons.
