My role As Vice-Captain Will Be To Help Other Players In Improving Their Skills And Mental Health: Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Veteran Indian seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is looking forward to serving as Shikhar Dhawan’s deputy during the upcoming ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka.
With senior Indian players like captain Virat Kohli, limited-overs cricket vice-captain, Rohit Sharma, currently, in England, Shikhar Dhawan will be leading the Indian contingent in Sri Lanka with seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar serving as his deputy.
Bhuvneshwar reckoned that for him it is an honor to serve the role of vice-captain and he is looking forward to continuing doing the same things he has done throughout his career thus far.
”Being the vice-captain of Team India is an honour and a responsibility. So, I will try to continue doing the things that I have been doing and hope our team does well on this tour,” said Bhuvneshwar Kumar on Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’.

Even though Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been selected as vice-captain of the Indian team, the Meerut-born seamer believes that things will pretty much remain the same as far as his role in the side is concerned.
The veteran white-ball seamer stated that as a senior player in the team, will be to help the youngster improve their skills and mental health.
‘’Yes, on paper, it is my role (vice-captain), but I don’t think things will change. I think being a senior player my role is to do things that help other players in improving their skills and mental health,” Bhuvneshwar Kumar added.
The Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian Cricket Team will kickstart their Sri Lanka sojourn with a three-match ODI series in Colombo from July 13.
The ODI rubber will culminate on July 18, post which the T20I series will take place at the same venue between July 21-25.
