Australia National Cricket Team spinner Nathan Lyon talked about the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. He said that they are excited for the summer and they can't wait to play against the India National Cricket Team in the five-match Test series.

The Rohit Sharma-led side and the Pat Cummins-led side will be up against each other in a Test series in November-December and January. The two teams will be locking horns with each other in the five-match Test series, which will also be part of the ICC World Test Championship.

Notably, the battle between the two teams has been a high-intensity one as both teams have displayed high-quality brand of cricket. But it's been around 10 years that the Pat Cummins-led side have defeated the Rohit Sharma-led side in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The Men In Blue at home as well as in Australia have been sensational. What has been impressive is that their performances are down under. Also, the Men In Blue on the last two tours have been absolutely amazing as they despite being under pressure have managed to win the series.

This time around it will be a different challenge again. The experienced Australian side will be up against a young Indian team. The likes of Nathan Lyon, Marnus Labuschagne, pacers, and others will be crucial for the home team's chances and would be keen to stage a comeback this time around.

Nathan Lyon while talking about the upcoming series against India said that he always wanted to compete against the best and there can be no one better than India. He also talked about his competition with Ravichandran Ashwin, saying that he is privileged to play against him and learn from him. Speaking to Star Sports, he explained:

"I've always said throughout my whole career I want to compete against the best and you look through the whole Indian lineup, the whole squad, there's absolute superstars everywhere you look and you want to compete and challenge yourself against them and I know Ash and I obviously debuted around similar times and we've competed against each other in a number of series now and between me and Ash I've got nothing but respect for Ash.

"I feel like I love watching him bowl, he's an absolute master in the craft of off-spin bowling and it's been an absolute privilege to play against him and learn off him.a1 Pretty exciting, it's obviously a massive summer for us out here so can't wait to have the Indian guys out here."

Nathan Lyon has had great success against the Indian National Cricket Team in the Test format. He has often troubled Indian batters with his off-spin and would be eager to make an impact this time around and help his team win.

Hopefully this summer we can turn the tables on India and put them under real pressure - Marnus Labuschagne issues a statement on BGT after Nathan Lyon

Marnus Labuschagne also shared his insights about the upcoming Test series against India National Cricket Team. He highlighted the battle between the teams, saying that it's a tough competition.

Marnus Labuschagne also talked about the Indian pacers, saying that they are the reason why they are tough to beat. But the batter is hopeful of turning things around this time and winning the series. He explained:

"Both Australia and India love the game and they're at the top of their game at the moment. The energy when these two teams play together is always high. There's always high anticipation. These two teams, it doesn't matter where we're playing, if it's in England, if it's in Australia, if it's in India, it's always a tough contest.

"India's fast bowling quartet is very good, which is really what brings them in Australian conditions, make them such a tough team to beat in Australian conditions. Hopefully this summer we can turn the tables on India and put them under real pressure," he concluded.
