Nathan Lyon Ties The Knot With Emma McCarthy

On Sunday, July 24, Australia spinner Nathan Lyon and fiancée Emma McCarthy got married. In front of their friends, families, and other loved ones, the pair said their vows. The 34-year-old uploaded a photo of himself and his better half holding hands on social media.

Emma was stunning in her beaded wedding dress. Lyon, on the other hand, donned a black tuxedo, a black bowtie, and a white shirt with a white button.

Lyon titled the image, writing “Mr & Mrs.” The Australian spinner was then greeted with congratulations by a number of Australian cricketers, including Josh Inglis, Sean Abbott, Peter Siddle, Alex Carey, and Chris Green, Mitchell Swepson, and Matt Renshaw.

After Emma was spotted with a diamond ring on her wedding finger in 2021, it was speculated that the two had already been engaged. After splitting from his ex-wife Mel Waring, Lyon began seeing Emma, who is also a real estate agent, in 2017.

In the most recent two-match Test series between Australia and Sri Lanka, Lyon was impressive. Lyon took 11 wickets in three innings, including a five-wicket haul in the first innings of the first Test, under conditions that were heavily in favour of spin-bowling.

On the list of all-time Test cricket wicket-takers, Lyon is now ranked tenth. He recently surpassed the legendary Kapil Dev to enter the top ten. Lyon has taken 438 wickets in 110 Test matches, including 20 fifers and three 10-fers.

In addition, he is Australia’s third-most successful bowler, behind only Glenn McGrath and spin master Shane Warne.

Nathan Lyon’s next big assignment will be in India when Australia tours India for a 4 match Test series. Australia have lost the last 3 Border-Gavaskar Trophy including two at home.
