Nathan McSweeney joins another team after Australia snub for BGT

Australia National Cricket Team batter Nathan McSweeney has been included in the Brisbane Heat squad for their second game of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25. This comes after the batter was dropped from the Australia National Cricket Team squad for the remainder of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Nathan McSweeney, who was captain of the Brisbane Heat and guided the team to win, will be playing under the leadership of stand-in skipper Colin Munro. The Kiwi batter has also been included in the team for the second match of the season against the Adelaide Strikers.

Brisbane Heat have had a great start to their campaign in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25. But they lost the services of Tom Alsop for the entire season. The keeper-batter, who was playing in the tournament for the first time, was ruled out without playing a game due to a quad strain.

The addition of McSweeney will be a great boost for the Brisbane Heat in the ongoing BBL. They started the tournament on a dominating note as they thumped Melbourne Stars by 8 wickets in their tournament opener, which took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.

The batter was dropped from the team after his poor returns in the first three games of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

McSweeney was given a tough time by the India National Cricket Team pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the six innings that he played for Australia. The right-hander looked clueless against the fast bowler and ended up getting out to him 4 times out of the 6 sixes innings that he played in the order-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
