Marco Jansen, on Saturday (June 8), took a brilliant catch to send back Max O'Dowd in the ongoing game between South Africa and Netherlands at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
South Africa captain Aiden Markram won the toss and opted to bowl first. His decision was justified straightaway as Marcon Jansen struck in the very first over. He dismissed opener Michael Levitt for a duck to give South Africa a solid start.
And even before the Dutch outfit could recover from the early setback, Marco Jansen came up with the brilliant catch in the slip cordon to send back Max O'Dowd. On the fourth ball of the fourth over, Ottneil Baartman bowled a short delivery outside the off stump and the Netherlands opener went for a cut shot.
However, he could not make a good contact and ended up edging the ball behind the stumps where Marco Jansen dived to his left to take a one-handed stunner.

Talking about the game, the Netherlands were reeling at 48 for 6 in the 12th over at the time of writing this report. Jansen and Anrich Nortje have picked up two wickets so far while Baartman has picked up one. No Netherlands batter has managed to touch the 20-run mark so far.
If the Netherlands fail to touch the 100-run mark in the ongoing game, it will be the third instance of a team failing to reach the triple-digit mark at the venue in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Earlier in the competition, South Africa had bowled out Sri Lanka for just 77 runs before India bowled out Ireland for only 96 runs.
After the two low-scoring games, the ICC had issued a statement as well, admitting that the pitch has not really played as per expectations. The same venue will be hosting the game between India and Pakistan as well.
