Nepal T20 League - Biratnagar Super Kings Open Account With Comfortable Win Over Winless Pokhara Avengers

Riding on Talat Hussain’s all round performance, Biratnagar Super Kings, on Wednesday (December 28), defeated Pokhara Avengers to open their account in the ongoing Nepal T20 League.
And while the win helped Super Kings register their first win of the competition, Avengers remain winless after losing four games in a row. Thanks to the win, the Super Kings have moved to the fourth spot in the points table while Avengers remain at the bottom of the table.
Biratnagar Super Kings’ chase:
Chasing 140 in 19 overs, the Super Kings reached home in the 18th over. Talat starred with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 50 to lead his team’s charge. The Pakistan international scored the fifty in 30 balls with the help of 4 fours and a six.

Andre McCarthy and Arjun Saud gave their team a slow and solid start, adding 47 runs in 48 balls for the first wicket before both of the departed in quick succession to leave the Super Kings 2 down for 52.
Rohit Paudel (5) and Prithu Baskota could not do much with the bat as the Super Kings were reduced to 92 for 4. But from thereon, it was one-way traffic as Talat shared an unbeaten stand of 48 runs with Bibek Yadav to give the Super Kings a much-needed win.

Pokhara Avengers’ innings:
Earlier in the game, Pokhara Avengers scored 139 for 7 in 19 overs after being asked to bat first. They were off to a poor start as both of their openers returned to the pavilion with just 23 runs on the board.
Upul Tharanga and Siddhant Lohani then steadied the ship with a 50-run stand before Avengers lost three wickets in quick time to find themselves reeling at 83 for 5. Kushal Malla then played a fine cameo of 37 runs off just 18 balls to give his team a respectable total.
