Biratnagar Super Kings, on Monday (January 9), thrashed Kathmandu Kings by 99 runs in the Eliminator to book a place in the second qualifier of the ongoing Nepal T20 League 2022/23. The Super Kings will now lock horns against Janakpur Royals in the second qualifier for a place in the final.

Chasing 183, the Knights put up a horrible batting display and were all out for a paltry total of 83. Number 11 Abinash Bohara being the highest run-scorer for the Knights just tells the story of the disastrous innings.

Bohara scored 16 and was one of the only two players who managed to cross the 10-run mark. Only 4 players managed to touch the double-digit mark as the Knights bowed out of Nepal T20 League with a humiliating defeat.

For the Super Kings, Surya Tamang was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 for just 14 while Keon Joseph and Shahab Alam picked up two wickets apiece.

Earlier in the game, skipper Rohit Paudel once again led from the front with the bat to guide his team to a big total of 182 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. Paudel scored yet another half-century to register his third fifty in four innings.

Batting first, the Super Kings were off to a disastrous start as their openers Gauranshu Sharma (1) and Arjun Saud (2) departed cheaply. It was followed by a 98-run stand between Paudel and Hussain Talat who scored 38 from 23 balls. As far as Paudel is concerned, he departed in the 16th over after scoring 61 off 49 balls.

In the final overs, Bibek Yadav took the Knights bowlers to the cleaners to guide his team to a 180-plus total. He remained unbeaten on 46 runs. The knock came off just 18 balls and contained 3 fours and as many sixes. For the Knights, Kamal Airee and Anil Kharel picked up two wickets apiece.
