New Fast Bowler In The Wings: Dinesh Karthik Takes A Hilarious Jibe At Rohit Sharma's Bowling

Opener and interim vice-captain of the Test team, Rohit Sharma was called upon to bowl just a single delivery on Day 1 of the ongoing fourth and the last Test match of the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia in Brisbane.
Team India has been hit by wholesale of injuries before and throughout the tour to Australia; more than half a dozen first-choice players are absent. Navdeep Saini is the latest entrant to this unfortunate list. In the 36th over of Australia’s first innings, Saini, who made his Test debut in the third Test in Sydney, walked off the field with a groin injury after bowling 7.5 overs.
Rohit Sharma bowls medium pace; Karthik warns other Indian pacers
Rohit Sharma was asked by the captain, Ajinkya Rahane to complete the over. It was expected that Mayank Agarwal may bowl the one ball left in Saini’s over as Agarwal had earlier bowled an over in the ODI series. Also, Rohit has bowled just 7 overs in Test cricket since 2015; the right-hander rarely bowls owing to his shoulder injury.
To everyone’s surprise, Rohit, who has bowled off-spin entirely in his career, decided to take a longer run-up and bowl medium pace. Jogging a few steps, with a relaxed action, Rohit Sharma bowled an innocuous delivery at a speed of 102.1 KPH outside the off-stum which Marnus Labuschagne cut towards point for a single.

Rohit’s close friend, Dinesh Karthik took to Twitter to hilariously warn other Indian pacers – he tagged Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami – to be wary of the ‘new fast bowler’ in the team.
“@Jaspritbumrah93 and and @MdShami11 better watch out , new fast bowler in the wings @ImRo45 #absolutelyrapid” tweeted the former KKR captain.
