After drawing the T20I series, New Zealand will be looking to win the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka. The three-match SL vs NZ ODI series will be getting underway on Wednesday (November 13). The first game of the series will be played in Dambulla.
The visitors had their back against the wall after losing the first T20I. However, they came up with a brilliant bowling effort in the second T20I to win the game by 5 runs.
The win will definitely boost their confidence and they will be looking to make the most of it in the ODIs. So before the first game gets underway, we are taking a look at the New Zealand Playing 11.

Openers: Tim Robinson, Will Young:
Tim Robinson and Will Young are looking set to open for New Zealand in the first SL vs NZ ODI. Robinson will be eyeing a good performance with the bat after failing to impress in the T20I series. The opening batsman registered scores of 3 and 0 in the T20Is.
Will Young, on the other hand, will be looking to extend his brilliant run in subcontinent in the ongoing tour. After a stunning campaign in the Test series in India, the right-handed batsman played a crucial knock of 30 runs in the second T20I against the Islanders.
Middle-order batsmen and allrounders: Henry Nicholls, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitch Hay
After warming the bench during both the T20Is, Henry Nicholls is looking destined to play the first SL vs NZ ODI. The left-handed batsman is one of the most experienced players in the new-look New Zealand side and will be eyeing a good outing with the bat.
Mark Chapman registered scores of 1 and 2 in the T20Is and will be desperate to make amends in the upcoming ODI series.
Glenn Phillips will be eyeing another impact outing. While he could not do much with the bat in the T20I series, he made a big impact with the ball. In the second T20I, Phillips defended 8 runs in the final over while picking up 3 wickets.
The other batting option in the middle-order will be Michael Hay while the other option as an allrounder will be Michael Bracewell.
Bowlers: Mitchell Santner (c), Zakary Foulkes, Ish Sodhi, Adam Milne
New Zealand have a fine attack for the opening game. They do have the bowlers who can restrict the home side to a modest total. Captain Mitchell Santner will be leading the spin attack and will have Ish Sodhi for company.
The fast-bowling department will be having the likes of Zakary Foulkes and Adam Milne. Foulkes had picked up 3 wickets in the first game before taking another in the second game. On the other hand, Milne was not a part of the original squad but replaced Lockie Ferguson who has been sidelined with a calf injury.
