Openers: Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra
New Zealand would eye a winning start in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, courtesy of a win in the opening game to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
The Mitchell Santner-led side has a balanced squad at its disposal and would like to make the most of the resources by delivering a strong performance.
The management and the captain would bank on their top order to come good and lay a platform for the incoming batters to capitalize on and post an above-par total while batting first.
The BlackCaps are expected to open the batting with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra, both of whom are quite settled when it comes to ODI cricket and would look to do their job as an opening partnership.

Not only the spinners, but the West Indian fast bowlers will also look to restrict the opposition batters in the second powerplay, and that is where the likes of Mark Chapman and Michael Bracewell will be expected to support Mitchell and Latham.
New Zealand will have the option of dictating terms with their approach if they get off to a good start, given the depth that they have in their batting lineup.

As far as New Zealand's bowling combination is concerned, it is expected to be made up of four fast bowlers and two spinners.
The fast bowling department of the BlackCaps will be handled by Matt Henry and Jacob Duffy, who, in all likelihood, will take the new ball.
