New Zealand will take on the West Indies in the third of the five-match T20I series. This article provides details about New Zealand's Playing 11 vs West Indies for the third match of the series.
New Zealand Playing XI vs West Indies- 3rd T20I, West Indies Tour of New Zealand 2025:
Openers: Devon Conway (wk), Tim Robinson
New Zealand would aim to replicate the same performance that the team delivered in the second T20I against the West Indies to bounce back from a defeat in the opening match and level the series 1-1.
The Mitchell Santner-led side would be happy with the way the batters rectified the mistakes they made in the first match and put on a strong effort with the bat to post a score of more than 200 runs.
The Kiwis would want the batters to keep up the good work and replicate the same performance in the third T20I to get the opposition bowlers under pressure.
The BlackCaps will open the batting with the pair of wicketkeeper batter Devon Conway and Tim Robinson, both of whom got the team off to a steady start in the second match by adding 55 runs for the first wicket.
The onus will be on them once again to do the same and play a match-winning innings individually as well.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Rachin Ravindra, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner (c), Zak Foulkes, Kyle Jamieson
As far as the performance of the New Zealand middle order in the previous match is concerned, it was led by a man named Mark Chapman, who played a breathtaking knock of 78 runs off just 28 balls.
Chapman's innings gave the impetus that the New Zealand innings badly needed to increase their chances of crossing the 200-run mark.
The batter was su[supported by Daryl Mitchell and Mitchell Santner, who also flexed their muscles and would want to do more of the same in the upcoming match.
Along with the above-mentioned batters, the captain and team management would also want the likes of Rachin Ravindra and Michael Bracewell to make valuable contributions in the next outing.
Bowlers: Ish Sodhi, Jacob Duffy
If we talk about New Zealand's bowling, it was able to hold its nerve against a deep West Indian batting lineup, which almost pulled the game in its team's favour.
The bowling attack comprising Jacob Duff, Zak Foulkes, Kyle Jamieson, and three spinners in the form of Ish Sodhi, captain Mitchell Santner, and Michael Bracwell was able to take wickets at regular intervals, as a result, restricted the West Indies to 204.
New Zealand is expected to go into the third T20I with the same bowling combination of three spinners and as many fast bowlers.
The reason is that the match in question is a day affair, and spinners are expected to play a vital role in both innings.
To add to that, the presence of Ish Sodhi provides a balance to the playing XI as he comes in as a specialist bowler in place of an all-rounder with the team already batting till number nine.
