Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has opined that Lucknow Super Giants wicket-keeper Nicholas Pooran might lose his place in the LSG playing XI if he continues his poor form in this season of the Indian Premier League.
The Lucknow Super Giants have been lacking promising form in this edition of the competition, and that is mostly due to their batters not hitting good form. Pooran, Markram, Marsh, and Rishabh Pant, the four big names, have all struggled to perform at the best of their ability.
"100 ka bhi strike rate nahi hai," Irfan Pathan's brutal dig at LSG batter
Former Indian all-rounder opined that Nicholas Pooran, the dynamic left-handed batter, is either under poor health or has mindset issues. He also went on to opine that Josh Inglis' return would be a massive concern for him.
"100 ka bhi strike rate nahi hai (His strike rate is not even 100). He hasn't been scoring at all. He batted at No. 3 last year but has now been moved down the order. Another thing, his foot gets planted early. That's why he is not in form. More than technique, I feel the issue is in the head, or there is some health issue. One of these two things are bothering Nicholas Pooran," said Irfan Pathan on his YouTube channel.
"If he doesn't sort it out quickly, he could be in trouble because Josh Inglis is a very good player, and there will be pressure on Nicholas Pooran when he joins the camp," he added. Pooran could manage just 41 runs across the 4 innings while batting at a dismal strike rate of 85.41.
"He is a monster against spinner," Irfan Pathan shocks all with his latest opinion on the RCB skipper
The former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan opined that RCB skipper Rajat Patidar has been in some stunning form against spinners. He went on to hail him as a monster while facing spin bowling.
"Rajat Patidar is batting at a strike rate of over 200. He is also hitting three sixes in an over against spinners. If you consider yourself a gangster, then this is a monster against spinners," he opined.
He then continued, "Rajat Patidar's strength is that he stands firm, and the base is very good. He does not use his feet a lot and is not a player who will step out and hit. Can Digvesh Rathi invite him to play on the front foot more? Not too far ahead, but invite in such a way that he cannot hit it straight and has to go across."
Irfan Pathan is excited to witness the matchup between Mohammad Shami and Virat Kohli
The RCB vs. LSG match will be a crucial game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where the two Indian greats Virat Kohli and Mohammad Shami will clash in a high-voltage contest. Irfan Pathan is excited to witness the outswingers from Shami and Kohli looking to counter it.
"Virat Kohli scored 50 runs in the last match, but was a bit upset after getting out. It means that he wants to improve even after scoring a fifty. He wants to improve the strike rate. Mohammad Shami has been in very good form and has bowled just one bad over," Pathan claimed.
Pathan further revealed how Shami can now bowl full balls on his own will and how the RCB veteran can counter the swing by taking guard on the middle stump.
"Shami gets late movement, but now he has started something new. He turns his wrist to bowl the outswinger. That means that he can bowl the outswinger at will. Virat Kohli will be aware of it. Can he stand on the middle and off stump to counter that swing? Mohammad Shami is likely to bowl one or two full balls to make him drive on the up," he added.
