Young Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy achieved a massive milestone with the bat during the third day of the fourth Test of the ongoing series against Australia. Nitish Kumar Reddy became the first Indian cricketer to score a century in Tests on Australian soil while batting No. 8 or lower in the line-up.
Nitish came to bat when the team was struggling at 191/6 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday, December 28. The batter started cautiously to settle himself at the crease. He successfully handled the Australian bowling attack and managed to cross the 50-run milestone for the first time in Tests.

The 21-year-old batter converted his start into a maiden Test century. It was a particularly special feeling for him to score a century in challenging conditions for an overseas batter in Australia. The right-handed batter had recorded scores of 41, 38, 42, 42, and 16 in the first three matches of the match Test series.
Reddy shared a crucial 127-run partnership with fellow all-rounder Washington Sundar for the eighth wicket. The batter reached his maiden Test century in 171 balls. He celebrated the milestone with an emotional moment, dropping to his knees and looking up to the sky, with his father watching from the stands.
Nitish Kumar Reddy became the first Indian to score a century in Australia while batting at number 8 in a Test match. Overall, he was the fifth batter to score a century after Gerry Alexander, Adam Parore, Matt Prior, and Yasir Shah.
