In a major development for the India National Cricket Team, young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is expected to get his fitness clearance very soon from the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

Nitish has been out of action since June after suffering a left quadriceps injury. He picked up the injury during India’s third ODI against Afghanistan. He was later included in India’s white-ball squads for the tours of England and Ireland, but his injury delayed his return. Now, ahead of the white-ball series against Afghanistan, a Revsportz report shared that Reddy will be “very soon” getting the clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence to return to action.

India’s men’s cricket team will begin their Asian Games 2026 campaign on September 28 in Japan. They are among the seeded teams and will enter the tournament directly from the quarter-finals.

The Men in Blue will face the second-placed team from Group A, which includes Afghanistan, Japan and Nepal.
