The 22-year-old India National Cricket Team all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has issued an official statement on the reports of leaving Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Nitish Kumar Reddy unhappy with SRH?
On Sunday, July 27, India Today released a bombshell report, claiming that the young all-rounder Reddy is contemplating leaving the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
The report mentioned that Reddy is not on good terms with SRH and wants to start fresh in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The reason behind his fallout with SRH was reported to be his batting position in IPL 2025.
Reddy wanted to get a permanent spot at No.4 and agreed to retention after getting assurance from the franchise. But when the season began, the franchise trusted Heinrich Klaasen to bat at the crucial spot. Reddy was forced to bat between No.5 and No.7, and this made the all-rounder unhappy.
I’ll always stand by this team - Nitish Kumar Reddy
After the report went viral, the all-rounder quickly took to X to issue a clarification. Reddy stated that his relationship with the one-time IPL champions is still very good.
He added that his "connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion," and he will stick with the team for the next season and beyond. Nitish Kumar Reddy stated:
"I tend to stay away from the noise, but some things deserve clarity. My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I’ll always stand by this team."

Notably, Reddy was one of the five players retained by the Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction. He was retained for INR 6 crore along with Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, and Travis Head.
At the time of the auction, there were reports that several franchises approached Reddy to enter the auction, but he chose loyalty to the Hyderabad-based franchise over money.
Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, caught in legal storm
Reddy recently got ruled out of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 due to a knee injury. He sustained a knee injury while doing mobility training in the gym, and later the scans revealed he had damaged his ligament.
After being ruled out of the marquee series, Reddy found himself in legal trouble as his former agent filed a petition against him, asking him to clear his dues of Rs 5 crore.
The relationship between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Square The One - the agency - "broke down" during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia, and the all-rounder decided to sign a deal with a new manager.
Square The One has asked Reddy to clear the dues, claiming they facilitated multiple brand endorsements and commercial partnerships, but the player denied it.
