Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Nitish Rana took a brutal dig at the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Pat Cummins after their team thumped the Orange Army in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match took place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (26th May).

Kolkata Knight Riders blew away Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. It was sheer dominance from the Shreyas Iyer-led side as they thumped the Pat Cummins-led side by 8 wickets to claim their third title, having won early in 2012 and 2014 under Gautam Gambhir.

Pat Cummins, who hardly has put a foot wrong as the captain of the team in the last few months, looked clueless as he had no answers to the counter punches by Kolkata Knight Riders. The Sunrisers Hyderabad were torrid with the bat as well as the ball as they lost the final by a big margin.

Sunrisers Hyderabad opted to bat first and it seemed that it would be another dominating performance from their end. However, the class of Mitchell Starc was too much to handle as the left-arm pacer removed Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi while Vaibhav Arora removed Travis Head for a duck.

However, after that, nothing went in Sunrisers Hyderabad's way as Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers were all over them. Aiden Markram (20) and Pat Cummins (24) were the top run scorers, which speaks a lot about their poor batting display as they got all out.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Andre Russell was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/19. Apart from him, Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana chipped in with two wickets each. Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakravarthy, and Sunil Narine claimed one wicket as they bundled out SRH for 113 runs.

With the bat, it was another dominating show by the Kolkata Knight Riders. Venkatesh Iyer (52*) slammed a vital half-century with the bat and took his team home. They chased the target inside just 11 overs and won their third game over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the season.

Nitish Rana silences Pat Cummins with his brutal dig after trophy win

After Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final of the Indian Premier League, Nitish Rana came up with a brutal post. He posted a picture with Suyash Sharma and had a finger on his lips, mocking Pat Cummins.

Here is the post:

For the unversed, Pat Cummins had said on the eve of the World Cup 2023 final in November: “Nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent.”

However, Pat Cummins stood tall on his statement as he made the crowd completely silent after he removed Virat Kohli, and then Australia later beat India to win the final.
