Recently, Rinku shared a surprising and heartwarming story from his past involving his former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) teammate Nitish Rana. The explosive batter revealed how his dream of traveling abroad came true in an unexpected way, all thanks to Rana.
Rinku Singh shares his funny yet inspiring story with Nitish Rana
The left-handed batter revealed that he went on a honeymoon with Nitish Rana after he got married in 2019. For Rinku, it was his first time stepping outside India, and he was excited but also nervous to visit Europe. Nitish wanted him to mingle with people and gain confidence.
However, Rinku struggled because he wasn’t fluent in English and wasn’t sure how to ask for things or communicate what he needed. During the trip, he had to order food using gestures because he didn’t know how to speak or explain himself in English.
Rinku Singh said on Raj Shamani’s Podcast: “I had always dreamed of traveling outside India. In 2019, when Nitish Rana got married, he took me along on his honeymoon because we are very close. He wanted me to talk to people and build my confidence. I kept wondering how I would speak in English—how to ask for things or say what I needed. I used to place my order for food and all using gestures.”

When Rinku Singh couldn't say ‘Cheese’!
The hilarious moment came when, on the way back to India, Nitish asked Rinku to order a burger from McDonald’s. The Indian batter bought a chicken burger but couldn’t add cheese because he didn’t know how to say “cheese” in English, but Rana was there to help him.
Rinku recalled, “On our way back to India, Rana bro said he was hungry and asked me to order a burger from McDonald’s. I bought a chicken burger, but he said, "Why didn't you add cheese to it?" I said, how do I say it? I didn’t know how to say “cheese” and was struggling to form the sentence in English. So, this was the scene.”

Rinku Singh and Priya Saroj to marry next year after postponement
Notably, Rinku Singh is all set to marry Priya Saroj, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party and a lawyer by profession. The couple got engaged on 8th June 2025 at the Centrum 5-star hotel in Lucknow in the presence of several prominent personalities from the political and cricket worlds.
Their wedding was originally scheduled to take place on 18th November in a 5-star hotel in Varanasi. However, due to Rinku’s busy schedule, the wedding has been postponed. The couple is now expected to get married in February 2026, but the exact date has not been announced yet.
