England all-rounder Moeen Ali lavished rich praise on India captain Rohit Sharma ahead of the semi-final between the teams in the T20 World Cup 2024. He hailed the opening batter as a world-class player and claimed that when he is one song bowlers just hope he gets out.

India captain Rohit Sharma has been leading the path for his team in the T20 World Cup 2024. The opening batter since the last few years has completely changed his batting style and is taking the aggressive route right from the start, slamming bowlers all over the park.

Rohit Sharma is trying to ensure that he gives his team a flying start and takes the game away from the opposition right from the start. The move sometimes has failed but also has paid off. The opening batter was at his best during the game against Australia in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Rohit Sharma, who was under the firing line for the series of low scores, played one of his best T20I innings as he took the game away from Australia right from the start. The captain played an innings of 92 runs off 41 balls and made a mockery of the opposition with his brutal hitting.

With the semi-final against England just around the corner now, Rohit Sharma would be hoping to make a similar kind of impact in the game against the defending champions as well. The captain so far has slammed two half-centuries in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 and would be keen to add more to his tally.

Ahead of the semi-final, Moeen Ali lauded the India captain Rohit Sharma and highlighted the kind of impact he has had on the game. The all-rounder also believes that Team India has all the bases covered and they need to be at their best to beat them. He explained:

"He's a world-class player - one of the best players in the world. You sometimes just hope they get out in T20s. That's the thing in cricket, especially T20 cricket: you're not always guaranteed runs, no matter how good you're playing. But they've got other players as well."

"They're just a brilliant side. They've got everything covered, so we're going to have to be at our best to beat them. I'm looking forward to it, actually: it's a great challenge, similar to the last time we played them in the semi-final in Australia. It's going to be a challenge, and we're going to have to plan and play really well,"

The way we took them on, and we were unbelievable with the bat - Moeen Ali on the last semi-final between India and England

Both India and England clashed in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 and it saw the Jos Buttler-led side thumping the Men in Blue by 10 wickets. It was a complete dominance by the Jos Buttler-led side as they then went on to win the final as well.

Moeen Ali talked about the same and highlighted they were exceptional with the bat during that game. While talking about the same, he elaborated:

"But [also] the way we took them on, and we were unbelievable with the bat. We set the game up on that wicket with the ball. Even when they got away from us a little bit at the end, it was a bit late. That was a great day, and a great performance."

The semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 between India and England is all set to take place on Thursday (27th June) at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
