Second duck in a row for Virat Kohli. After the match against the Lucknow Super Giants on May 7, the batting maestro of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) again went for a duck on May 10, this time against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur.
LSG pacer Deepak Chahar uprooted the stumps of Virat Kohli in the fourth ball of the very first over of the second innings. Kohli started his IPL 2026 campaign in a promising way, but currently, he is going through a bad form.
Virat Kohli's wicket is a major blow for RCB
RCB lost the wicket of Kohli for only 10 runs on the scoreboard, and that target score is 167 runs in 20 overs. It was a milestone match for Virat Kohli. The player with the jersey number 28 walked into the field tonight to play the 278th IPL match of his career, and still counting.
So, the crowd at the stadium and the fans of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the batter were hoping to see something special from him. But it turned into another disappointing night for the fans, as the batting legend departed without scoring a single run against the Mumbai Indians.
In the first innings of the match, it was clear that the pitch and the circumstances had something to offer for the bowlers. The 4-wicket spell by the RCB pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the perfect example of it. Kumar’s bowling spell was the perfect example of how to bowl on such decks, where the ball was moving.
Virat Kohli lost control at the end moment
To claim the wicket, Deepak Chahar targeted the weak zone of Virat, which was the area around the off stump. It was a hard length delivery on the off, on which the right-handed batter wanted to offer a reply through a lofted drive. He brought out his front foot to play the ball on the rise.
As soon as the ball made contact with the ball, the bat turned in his gloves and Virat Kohli lost control. After making the connection, the ball went flat towards the mid off, where Raj Bawa moved to his right and took a good catch. Virat had to go with a golden duck.

Virat Kohli doesn’t look hungry for cricket anymore. Feels like he’s just playing for fun now. He doesn’t even try to stay at the crease, just starts slogging from ball one, despite knowing the whole team depends on him. Same mistake every game. 💔 pic.twitter.com/EGgLbUfezL
