Pakistan head coach Gary Kirsten recently had a candid discussion with the players and he made some shocking remarks, as per Geo News. This comes after Pakistan's disastrous display in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

The Men in Green were one of the strong contenders for the title this year but failed to live up to the expectations as they bowed out of the tournament at the league stage. Their chances of making it to the next round took a huge blow in the very first game when they suffered a shock loss against USA.

And when they suffered a loss against India in their second game as well, their campaign looked as good as over. USA's loss against India and their win over Canada did revive their slim chances for a while. However, Pakistan were eventually knocked out after the USA's game against Ireland was washed out. Their campaign finally ended on Sunday (June 17) with an unimpressive win over Ireland.

No unity in Pakistan team: Gary Kirsten

A day after Pakistan's campaign in the T20 World Cup came to an end, Gary Kirsten sensationally told the players that there was absolutely no unity in the team. The former South Africa batsman, who has coached teams across the world, stated that the Pakistan players are not even supporting each other as he expressed his shock over the situation.

"There's no unity in Pakistan team. They call it a team, but it isn't a team. They aren't supporting each other; everyone is separated, left and right. I've worked with many teams, but I've never seen such a situation," said Gary Kirsten according to the report in Geo News.

Kirsten also stated that the Pakistan players need to work on their fitness and skills in order to compete with the best teams in the world. He also warned the Pakistan players, saying that only those players will be selected in the team who want to improve their fitness.

"If we want to compete in the world, we have to improve our fitness and skills and be united. We are way behind in terms of fitness. Only the players who want to improve on their fitness will remain in the team," said the former India head coach according to Geo News.
