Hashim Amla, the South African great, has picked two Indian batters in his list of all-time favourite T20 cricketers. He has picked the former Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and the current Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav among the top 3 cricketers.

Indian legend Rohit Sharma has announced his retirement from the longest as well as the shortest format of the game. Ever since his retirement, Abhishek Sharma has taken his position at the top of the Indian batting order.

Abhishek has played 29 matches for India in the shortest format of the game and scored 1000 runs in the season. He has averaged nearly 40 and has boasted a strike rate of nearly 190, with 6 half-centuries and two centuries to his name.

Rohit Sharma picked among the Top 3 T20I batters of all time

Former South African cricketer Hashim Amla has revealed his three favourite T20 batters. The 42-year-old cricketer recently appeared on a YouTube podcast alongside Shubhankar Mishra and picked former Indian skipper Rohit Sharma as his favourite T20I batter.

“Rohit Sharma. He’s still one of my favourites. I love watching him. The elegance, man. Even in T20 cricket, he still has a smoothness in his shots. It’s beautiful to watch him play T20 cricket,” said Hashim Amla.

Rohit Sharma retired from T20Is after leading India to the ICC T20 World Cup, 17 years after their first win in 2007. He remains the second-highest run-scorer in the format.

He has 35 half-centuries and 3 centuries under his belt in his T20 career. Lastly, he sided with Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav as another startling batter in the format who has featured in 337 T20I matches and scored 8776 runs at an average of 35.10 and a strike rate of 152.83. Surya has 59 fifties and 6 hundreds in his T20 career.

Hashim Amla picks the five most impactful cricketers of all time

During the same interaction, Amla was questioned and asked to pick five of the most impactful cricketers of all time. He began by selecting former West Indies captain Viv Richards, who was part of the 1975 and 1979 World Cup-winning squads.

He then went on to pick two other greats from South Africa, AB de Villiers and Jacques Kallis, in the list, as they scored 20014 runs and 25534 runs respectively with 47 and 62 hundreds respectively.

He snubbed the Indian legends like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni and picked former legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who remains the highest international run-getter with 34,357 runs. He scored 100 centuries for India in the international formats.

Lastly, he picked the only bowler in the list, as he picked former Pakistan seamer Wasim Akram, who took 916 wickets in 460 matches, including 31 five-wicket hauls.
