In reply, Rohit Sharma told journalist Vimal Kumar that his opening partner Shubman Gill is the best rising talent in the world at present.

Shubman Gill is already one of the leading ODI batsmen in the world and has proved himself in Tests and T20Is too. The ongoing year is turning out to be a memorable one for him and he would be desperate to cap it off with the ODI World Cup title. The youngster is a part of India’s squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup.
He is the leading run-scorer in ODIs this year. While no other batsman in the world has managed to touch the 1000-run mark so far, he has scored 1230 runs in 20 games at an average of 72 and a strike rate of 105. The right-handed batsman has also hit five centuries including a double century and five half-centuries in ODIs this year.
