Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has hailed India's legendary spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Both Ashwin and Jadeja were brilliant in India's recent Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai.

While both are known for their world-class spin bowling, both are more than capable of batters as well. The batting potential of Ashwin and Jadeja was on display in the Chennai Test where they bailed India out of huge trouble in the first innings.

Kamran Akmal hails India's spin duo of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Kamran Akmal spoke about the roles of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in India's victory. He even claimed that India can't form a Playing XI in Test cricket at home without these two players.

"What an all-round performance from Ashwin. He took six wickets in the second innings and scored a century. It was a match-winning partnership from Jaddu. Without these two players, India can't form a Test playing XI at home. They are big performers,” Kamran Akmal said.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been India's top performers at home over the years in Test cricket. Both of them deserve a lot of credit for India's proud record of not losing a Test series at home since 2012.

R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja's all-round exploits

R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja came together while batting when India were 144-6 and were in danger of being bowled out for a sub-200 score. But the legendary spin duo stitched together a partnership to remember and put together 199 runs for the seventh wicket.

Both of them propelled India to an excellent first-innings total of 376 on a tricky batting surface at Chennai. While India's top order struggled against a spirited Bangladesh bowling attack, Ashwin and Jadeja counter-attacked to perfection.

R Ashwin was the aggressor as he scored 113 off 133 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja was more solid at the other end and scored a brilliant 86 off 124 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes.

Both of them were clinical with the ball as well. In the second innings, Ashwin and Jadeja shared nine wickets between them. Ashwin picked up a six-wicket haul while Jadeja grabbed 3 wickets.

Kamran Akmal lauds Rishabh Pant

Kamran Akmal further lauded Rishabh Pant for his brilliant Test comeback. He praised the medical staff who were involved in Pant's comeback to full-flight cricket.

"It was an incredible performance from (Rishabh) Pant. I salute the medical panel and the trainer who brought him back to the field,” Kamran Akmal added.

Rishabh Pant announced his comeback in Test cricket in a magnificent fashion as he slammed a scintillating hundred in the second innings of the match. In the first innings, Pant scored 39 off 52 balls which helped India get out of trouble after early wickets.

In the second innings, the wicketkeeper-batter scored 109 off 128 balls with 13 fours and 4 sixes. He formed a partnership of 167 runs with Shubman Gill to set a massive fourth-innings target for Bangladesh.
