Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has picked players with the potential to emerge as some of the most expensive purchases in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction, which is scheduled to take place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 19.
The IPL 2024 auction will feature 333 cricketers, including 214 Indians and 119 overseas players, with two from associate nations. The ten franchises can acquire a maximum of 77 slots, including 30 for overseas players, in the mini-auction to strengthen their teams.
23 players have set their reserve price at INR 2 crore, with an additional 13 players listed at a base price of INR 1.5 crore. Gujarat Titans, champions in 2022, possess the highest purse at INR 38.15 crore, while Lucknow Super Giants hold the smallest purse at INR 13.15 crore.

The Tamil Nadu-born cricketer identified several prominent players who could attract significant prices in the upcoming IPL 2024 auction. It’s worth mentioning that many of these players showcased their talents in the recently concluded 2023 ODI World Cup.
The legendary off-spinner’s list includes Rachin Ravindra (INR 50 lakh base price), Travis Head (INR 2 crore), Daryl Mitchell (INR 1 crore), Wanindu Hasaranga (INR 1.5 crore), Harshal Patel (INR 2 crore), Shardul Thakur (INR 2 crore), Shahrukh Khan (INR 40 lakh), Pat Cummins (INR 2 crore), Mitchell Starc (INR 2 crore), and Gerald Coetzee (INR 2 crore).

Ravichandran Ashwin will be next seen in action during the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa, starting on December 26 in Centurion. He has scalped 489 wickets in 94 Tests and has the opportunity to complete 500 wickets in red-ball cricket for India.
