Bangladesh opener Litton Das, on Friday (October 13), came up with a stunning piece of effort on the field to save a certain six against New Zealand in the 11th match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023.
With Bangladesh defending 246 and New Zealand off to a good start with the bat, every run was precious for Shakib Al Hasan and his teammates. And Litton Das’s stunning effort on the field just showed that. On the fourth ball of the 28th over, Daryl Mitchell hit a delivery from Mehidy Hasan Miraz straight over his head.
The ball was looking destined to sail over the boundary ropes for a six. However, Litton Das had other ideas. Just before the ball could land outside the boundary at long-on, he took a leaping catch before the momentum took him over the ropes. But before he could fall on the ground, he threw the ball back into play. The batters could only take a single after the stunning effort from the Bangladesh opener.
